Source: The Scandal

Sam George runs from Bailiff

Loud-mouthed controversial communications consultant at the Flagstaff House, Sam Nartey George, is busily evading bailiffs who are trying to serve him with a Ghc100 million defamation suit from Databank Chairman, Ken Ofori-Atta.

The Scandal can confirm that since yesterday, Sam George has not been to his Tantra residence after receiving a tip-off about the suit. Sam George has also been conspicuously absent from his desk at the Flagstaff House, with his whereabouts currently unknown.

"We thought as a 'bold' young man, who has made all manner of damning allegations against Ken Ofori-Atta, he would be man enough to face the repercussions of his actions. But No! He is running away, like the chicken he is. He should go to his home, spend Christmas with his family and await the bailiffs," a source told the paper.

The source assured that "even if Sam George jets off to Jupiter, we will find him and serve him with the suit. We will drag him to court and nobody, I mean N-O-B-O-D-Y, can stop it."

The paper is reliably informed that Sam George can't evade service forever. Under the Rules of Court, he can even be served on Christmas Day and the date of service will be the next court business day. Also, if he continues to evade service, Ken Ofori-Atta's lawyers will surely apply for him to be served by substitution.

Following rumours that Sam George had been sued by Ken Ofori-Atta, the Scandal on Wednesday morning, made enquiries at the Fast Track Division of the High Court, Accra, and can confirm that the suit had been filed with suit number AP69/2015.

The Scandal spoke with the bailiff who has been entrusted with the Writ for service on Sam George and can confirm that Sam George has been evading service.

Sources have told the paper that a number of suits have been lined up against Sam George.

Sam George, who describes himself as "an axe hewn by God," and Network Broadcasting Limited, operators of Accra-based Radio Gold, were sued by the banker and businessman, over claims made by Sam George on the station's Alhaji and Alhaji show on 18th October, 2014.

He is claiming Ghc100 million in damages against the defendants for claiming that Mr. Ofori-Attah does not pay his taxes.

Some of the issues raised by Mr. Ofori-Atta in the suit include the following:

1. Sam George has falsely alleged that Ken Ofori-Atta was (a) evading taxes (b) does not pay his taxes.

2. He also stated that Ken was engaged in fraudulent activities concerning a foreign account belonging to the party.

3. The comments were made on Alhaji & Alhaji on 18 October 2014 on Radio Gold. Radio Gold did nothing to verify or get Ken's side of the story. Deliberately of course.

4. The claim is for, amongst other things, 100 million Ghana Cedis against Sam George and Radio Gold.

Sam George and Radio Gold have a total of 8 days reply to the suit.
