Mahama: I’ll win 2016 elections

President John Mahama has said he will win the upcoming 2016 elections.

Mr Mahama, however, stated he is mindful of the current economic challenges confronting the country.

He added that his confidence in victory in the upcoming national elections is premised on events that preceded the 2012 elections which saw him emerge victorious after few months of campaigning.

Addressing the 8th Congress of the NDC underway in Kumasi to elect new national executive members, Mahama said the “NDC is a party that delivers when it promises”.

He said his government is confident of delivering on the promise of 200 new community-based secondary schools by the end of his first term in 2016.

He noted that the numerous other promises he made during the electioneering will be fulfilled in due course.

Mahama will face for the third time his fiercest political rival, Nana Akufo-Addo of the main opposition New Patriotic Party in the 2016 general polls.
