Injured Kwadwo Asamoah voted best left-back in Italy

Injured Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has been awarded the best left-back of last season’s Italian Serie A at the 2014 Gran Gala del Calcio AIC on Monday evening.

The 26-year-old, who is currently recovering from a knee injury, was handed the prize based on votes from fellow players in the Italian top flight.

Asamoah scored two goals in 34 Serie A appearances for Juventus during the 2013/14 season.

After receiving the award, the former Udinese player told reporters, “I am very fine. I want to thank all my team-mates and Coach Conte, he mainly used me in that role left-back. My return? In 3 or 4 months.”

The Gran Gala del Calcio AIC is an event organized by the Italian Footballers Association.
