UNICOF demands recall of dismissed Dangote workers

The Union of Industry, Commerce and Finance workers, UNICOF has ordered management of Dangote Cement to reinstate 17 workers who were dismissed last month over their demonstration concerning poor working conditions.

It followed a meeting between management of Dangote Cement and UNICOF on the impasse Tuesday.

UNICOF says the decision by Dangote Cement to terminate the appointments of the workers was illegal.

It has, therefore, asked Dangote Cement located in Tema, to set up a commission of inquiry to investigate reasons behind the dismissal of the staff.

One of the affected workers, Kwadwo Adomson, who is the Logistics officer at the firm, told STARR BUSINESS they expect to receive their letters of reinstatement next week.
