The former Minister for Youth and Employment, Nana Akomea blames government utterances and its poor conflict resolution machinery, as the cause of the current impasse between Labour Union and the government.

He noted that, the signs of the strike action has been on the wall for years but government has been adamant.

'Unfortunately, it uses 'knee-jerk approach' after the aggrieved party takes to the street or labour strike, then government pretends to be interested in the issues and calls for crises meetings creating suspicion', he said.

Nana Akomea who is also the former Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party described as childish, and an insult to the Labour Unions' conscience, when some leading members of government, accuses the major opposition party, for being the brain behind the strike actions.

'Does it mean that, the intelligent and matured workers of the country do not know what they need till someone comes to tell them?' He quizzed.

Nana Akomea was speaking on the morning show of Rainbow Radio 87.5 fm in Accra.

He said, government has not been sincere with the people of Ghana and its teeming working masses since it does not fulfill its promises and therefore lacks credibility, hence 'no one takes it serious'.

He cited the Aburihene and some chiefs of the Volta region whom he claimed have been sympathisers of the government, calling on the President to honour its promises and urged it to desist from further unfulfilled promises.

This, Nana Akomea said, is an indictment on government and its public image.
