‘Ghana FA judicial bodies must be purged’

Ghana FA Executive Committee member Wilfred Osei wants drastic changes made to the judicial bodies of the association to avoid future occurrences of the court case instigated by King Faisal.

The Kumasi-based side have dragged the GFA to the ordinary Ghanaian court in their attempt to reverse what they claim to be an unfair demotion from the Ghanaian top flight.

The court case has delayed the start of the new football season as the GFA is unable to hold its ordinary congress session – a pre-requisite to kick start the regular football season.

But even though Wilfred Osei has kicked against GFA members resorting to the ordinary law courts to seek redress, the Ex.Co member admits the various judicial bodies within the association needs massive upgrading.

“I believe the judicial bodies of the GFA needs to be purged,” he said in an exclusive interview with GFA TV.

“There is still talk about bringing in the single judge system and I think that will help accelerate the rate of adjudication in our football.

“One main problem of our judicial bodies is the formation of a quorum for them to treat cases but with the coming in of the single judge, this problem will be a thing of the past.”
