Mahama meets Goodluck Jonathan over irregular gas supply

President John Dramani Mahama on Friday, October 17 held talks with his Nigerian counterpart, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, over the recent irregular supply of gas to Ghana.
The irregular supply of gas through the West African Gas Pipeline from Nigeria has had a toll on Ghana’s energy crisis with the country’s load shedding programme to be intensified.
President Mahama also used the opportunity to discuss the security situation in Nigeria as regards the threat of fundamentalists Boko Haram.
“The two leaders also discussed and reviewed the sub-region's management of the Ebola Disease Virus and available information from the three infected countries of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea,” a statement from the Presidency on Saturday added.
President Mahama expressed gratitude to President Jonathan and the people of Nigeria for the recent help in airlifting Ghana’s humanitarian aid to the three Ebola-affected countries of Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
Ghana provided a total of 3,000 bags of Ghanaian-grown rice, 300 cartons each of made-in-Ghana cooking oil, cocoa products and milk.
