I am ready for the Commission - Nyantakyi

Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has expressed his willingness to testify before the Justice Senyo Dzamefe Presidential Commission of Inquiry to clear misconceptions about him and football administrators.

Nyantakyi, who made his expectant appearance on Tuesday in the packed Media Center of the Accra Sports Stadium, said that there were many negative misconceptions about him and other people in football management.

My Lord, people think those of us in football are thieves and have been casting all manner of allegations on us, so I want to use the opportunity to clear myself.

“This Commission is doing a great job, it will change the face of football and sports in Ghana. I am willing to contribute my quota to your work”, he added.

Nyantakyi said though it was the responsibility of the state to fund the national teams, the FA had contributed over $36 million on its own to the Black Stars and other national teams since 2006.

He said the GFA was owing coaches of the various national teams, $ 293, 000.

Nyantakyi is expected to continue with his submission on Wednesday, October 1.
