Casely-Hayford to petition Mahama over removal of CHRAJ Boss

A financial consultant, Sydney Casely-Hayford has disclosed he would soon petition President Mahama for the removal of the commissioner for the Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice, Lauretta Vivian Lamptey.

Lamptey has come under severe pressure to resign as CHRAJ Boss after it was revealed that she was paying the Cedi equivalent of 456.25 dollars per day at a hotel while over GHc180,000 has been spent on renovating her official residence.

The revelations have sparked public furore with critics calling on her to step down to save her reputation.

Lamptey has however told Starr News, that she won’t step down.

She said her critics are ignorant of her job.

Speaking on Accra-based radio station Citi FM, Casely-Hayford said Lamptey has shown severe incompetence and therefore not fit to lead a body responsible for checking administrative injustice.

He added that the laws of the nation must be tested and that he would champion the removal of Lamptey from office.

According to him, President Mahama would have failed as an anti-corruption campaigner if he does not find mechanisms to remove ex-Sports Minister Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and Lamptey from office.

“If he (President Mahama) cannot find mechanisms for removing Afriyie-Ankrah and the CHRAJ Boss, then he should stop saying he is championing anti-corruption in this nation” Casely-Hayford said.
