Le Roy: Ghana coach Appiah must make ‘own calls’

Ex-Ghana coach Claude Le Roy has said Black Stars manager Kwesi Appiah needs to be firm with every decision he takes and must not allow external interference ahead of the World Cup.

He said Appiah must not bow to possible pressure from officials to select their favourite players for the Mundial.

“The Coach should be a tough man and make his own calls because Ghana is a strong footballing nation with great players,” Le Roy told Al Malakoot Sat.

“I think he knows the magnitude of the competition he is going into and that should serve enough motivation to try and work with the best to achieve results for his country.”

“Ghana’s ability to qualify from the group will depend on the players selected and the mental set they carry into the tournament,” the Frenchman who led Ghana to finish third at the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations opined.
