CEO of STRATCOMM Africa honoured by Alma Mater

Ms. Esther Amba Numaba Cobbah, Chief Executive Officer Stratcomm Africa, was at the weekend honoured by her alma mater, Wesley Girls’ High School (Wey Gey Hey) in Cape Coast, for her achievements in the private sector.

The award was given at the school’s 177th Speech and Prize-Giving Day.

Ms. Cobbah, a product of Wey Gey Hey, was awarded with three others, all old girls of the school, and all winners of CIMG Marketing Woman of the Year Award at various times.

They were each presented with a plaque and a certificate, to serve as an inspiration for the younger ones to strive for greater heights.

The Speech and Prize-Giving Day on the theme: 'A Value-Based Education for Sustainable National Development,' had two old girls of the school, the Minister of Education, Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, and Mrs. Peace Ayisi- Okyere, former Executive Director of the African Development Bank, as the Guest of Honour, and the Guest Speaker respectively, with Ms. Gladys Wuo Asare, a lawyer, and also an old girl, as the chairperson.

Mrs. Betty Djokoto, Headmistress of the School told the awardees, ‘You have made the school proud by your achievements… Having come this far by the Grace of God, it is inspiring and motivating for the present generation to know and understand what it takes for one to attain such heights'.

It will be recalled that last year, Ms. Cobbah was adjudged the CIMG Marketing Woman of Year 2012, by the Ghana Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIMG), and the Outstanding Corporate Woman of the Year At the Ghana Women’s Awards.

She had previously received other awards including ‘Achiever In Entrepreneurship & the Corporate World from Global Women Entrepreneurs and Best Entrepreneur – Media Communication Award – 2010 from Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana.

Strategic Communications Africa Ltd., (Stratcomm Africa), the organization she heads, has also received several awards, including: 2nd AGI Ghana Industry Awards 2013 – Business Promotion & Consulting Services Company of the year - Nov. 2013, African Business Star Quality Awards 2013 – For Excellent Communications & Advertising Services - Aug 13 and Christian Company of The Year – 2008.

Ms. Cobbah who was a Senior Prefect at Wesley Girls High School, in response to the award said, “God is the lifter of my head and I give Him all the glory. I will continue to tap into God’s excellence and impart it through my work”.

“I am grateful to this school that taught me to live pure, speak true, right wrong and follow the King. Living by this motto brings amazing results and rewards.'
