CLOGSAG accuse Labour Minister of intimidation

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) is accusing the Minister of employment and labor relations, Nii Armah Ashitey, of intimidating its members to call off their ongoing strike.

According to the group, the minister personally confronted them and asked that they return to work or face reprimand from him.

The Greater Accra Regional Secretary of CLOGSAG, Samuel Collinson, in an interview with XYZ News stated that the group will not bow to any pressure or intimidation from the minister or any government official.

He added that the minister broke the rules by confronting individual members about the strike.

“The minister is supposed to be mindful of the labour act rather, he used a different means to address the issue. He chose to intimidate individual members”.

Samuel Collinson has also warned members against resuming work.

“The strike action is still on, no one should report to work until they hear from the leadership of CLOGSAG”.
