Akufo-Addo’s men involved in plot to remove Otumfuo

Having failed in their ill-intended agenda to use “The New Free Press” newspaper to smear and dent the hard-won dignity and integrity of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, elements in the New Patriotic Party, especially reckless aficionados of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo have embarked on a new perilous agenda to cause disaffection for the adorable Asante King aimed at getting him destooled.

Failing to believe their ‘darling’ candidate lost the election petition on merit, hawks within the NPP, whose political life is determined by the continuous existence of Nana Akufo-Addo in politics, have switched their evil lights on the Asantehene and are running him down with the accusation of conspiring with President Mahama to bribe the Justices of the Supreme Court, to rule in the latter’s favor.

Whiles it turned out that a fiction publication by The New Free Press; a newspaper, whose office and name of publishers is yet to be established. It is also a media platform that has been perceived as a destructive tool by the NPP’s propagandist policy think tank: the Danquah Institute; to run-down the Asante King.

This time, they have embarked on a mission to use some Ashantis in the NPP who are proud loyalist of Akufo-Addo. They have also been credited for working against the continuous reign of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to pollute the minds of people of Ashanti descent to join their folks, particularly from Kumawu, Ejisu and Juaben who are calling for the King’s destoolment to intensify their call.

Intelligence picked by The Al-Hajj suggests that, as part of a wider plot to incite the removal of the Asante King, hardliners in NPP with the collaboration of their media surrogates have started using crude means to hoodwink Ashantis in believing that the King have desecrated the golden stool, hence must be removed to curtail further desecration of the stool.

To fulfill this immoral mission, a close associate of Nana Akufo-Addo, one Rockson Adofo; a resident in London and a kingpin among organizers of spurious demonstrations abroad in the heat of the election petition, have been commissioned to heap insults on the ruling government, as a step to kick start the “operation get the Asantehene destooled” agenda.

Mr. Adofo, an NPP hardliner based in UK, and well known by many Ghanaians for his ethnocentric and bias articles, in a series of articles recently splashed on the internet is bravely and smugly bearing the badge of the NPP ploy to lay a deceptive foundation for the removal of the Ashanti King.

In one of the many sickening articles titled “Should Asantehene Abdicate Following His Incessant Condemnations?” vulgar Rockson Adofo wrote: “Respect is earned but not commanded. Once a king loses the respect and allegiance of his subjects, he is worse than salt that has lost its sweetness. When salt loses its sweetness, it is not worth keeping it but to throw away, so the bible says. When a king's integrity is called into question, let alone being rampantly slurred for his alleged vicious life, his position as an Overlord becomes untenable.”

The NPP and Akufo-Addo’s ‘rotten teeth’ columnist, who is from Kumawu, a town in the Ashanti region; some of whose disgruntled members owing to chieftaincy problems are furiously calling for the removal of the Asantehene; as if newspaper publications were a gospel truth. I stumbled on a depraved and scurrilous article published by The New Free Press. Excerpt below.

“The rate at which Asantehene is being persistently castigated by his own subjects with unprintable and demeaning words on the airwaves, signifies that he has lost his entire respect and credibility in the eyes of these people. His own Asante subjects feel betrayed by him if indeed he was involved in bribery allegation of Justice William Atuguba and his other Supreme Court judges that sat on Election 2012 petition, with the purpose of rigging the verdict in favour of John Dramani Mahama.

He continued; “It hurts to tell the truth but in the end, it brings comfort. I am strongly of the opinion that those suggesting Asantehene abdicates, following his never-ending ill- fate that denigrates the golden Stool, are perfectly right. The good name of the stool and Asanteman must not be dragged in the mud by the unfortunate acts of greed, or ill-fated person. "Good name is better than riches" – understood?”

Meanwhile, The Al-Hajj is in the know that, aside the demeaning articles of Mr. Adofo, other NPP columnist will embark on similar moves whiles their members on social media also give the call for the Asantehene’s destoolement; much oxygen in the coming days.

As typical of the NPP’s unrepentant acerbity and crude political tactics towards their political opponents; some disgruntled indigenes of the Ashanti descend will be resourced to embark on series of demonstrations both in Ghana and abroad just like they did during the hearing of the election petition to drag the Otumfuo’s name in the mud and present him as a King who have refused to tow traditional lines in doing things per the Asante custom.
