STC board management in a crunch meeting

The board of ailing state transport company, STC is locked up in an emergency meeting with management over workers' demand.

The workers are agitating over unpaid salaries and distortions in their provident fund.

XYZ BUSINESS has also learnt that the workers are unhappy about the state of the company which they say is on the brink of collapse if government does not intervene.

The workers have in the past years expressed worry about delays in salaries and the poor state of the company.

They have accused management for mismanaging the company. They had threatened a strike if their grievances are not addressed.

Chairman of the Senior Staff Association, Seth Kwame Martins explains to XYZ BUSINESS the workers are totally dissatisfied with management.

He added “again the workers say for the last 10 years they have not had any substantive salary increment apart from a small adjustment. It was even to correct some distortions in the salary scheme.”
