Kufuor not surprised at Akufo-Addo’s defeat

A source close to former President John Agyekum Kufuor, has, in an exclusive telephone conversation, told The Informer that, the former President was not surprised at all that Nana Akufo-Addo’s appeal to floating voters was virtually nil.

According to him, Mr. Kufuor holds the view that Mr. John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen would have done the magic for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2012 presidential election, far better, than Nana Akufo-Addo.

Answering The Informer’s question why was it so, the source replied that: “former President Kufuor believes that Alan Kyerematen would have appealed more to floating voters than Nana Addo. Go and read Dr. Arthur Kennedy’s book “Chasing the Elephant into the bush”, particularly, chapter 2 and you will know what Mr. Kufuor meant; this confidant challenged”.

“Nana Addo was not appealing and that was why former President Kufuor had refused to back his candidature; unlike Alan Kyerematen, who he has described as the best amongst the party’s crop of candidates, during a conversation with Dr. Richard Anane; and this can be found in Dr. Arthur Kennedy’s book”.

“Nana Addo should stop bothering our ears and make way for a younger candidate like Alan Kyerematen to lead the NPP in 2016”; the former President’s aide unequivocally stated.

To refresh our readers minds, Mr. Kufuor in a chat with Dr. Richard Anane, as captured in Dr. Arthur Kennedy’s book, had said: “When I asked him (Anane) what he thought the president had learned from Ntim’s defeat, he said the president had learned that: “he did not back Ntim enough and that if he wanted to go in and support a candidate, he should do so more decisively to ensure success”.

He said in the president’s judgment, which he shared, Alan would make the best president amongst our crop of candidates and that the women would vote for him because of his look”.

The above statements by ex-President Kufuor, therefore, mean that, Alan Kyerematen is more handsome than Nana Akufo- Addo.
