TOR, NHIA to appear before PAC today

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament resumes its hearings today.

Parliament is on a long recession but the Committee will still be hearing various cases concerning expenditure from the public purse as captured by the Auditor-General’s 2011 report.

Ahead of the Committee’s resumption of hearings, President John Mahama has charged the committee not only to be neutral with its work, but also come up with recommendations that will help stifle misuse of the public purse.

"I believe the PAC must not be a public drama just to show that some committee is working or just use it to throw mud at the government of the day," he said.

Mr. Mahama said his government’s “commitment to transparency accountability must be complete.
