Starbow opens office in Takoradi

Starbow Airlines Ghana, a privately-owned airline headquartered in Accra, has opened an office in Takoradi Town as part of efforts to bring its services to the doorsteps of customers.

Starbow, which was founded in 2007 as Aero Surveys Limited and later rebranded to Air Shuttle, operates two Embraer EMB 110 Bandeirante aircraft.

In 2011, the ownership of the airline changed, which resulted in further rebranding.

In Ghana, Starbow operates domestic and regional flights from its base at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra.

Starbow, the largest locally-registered airline in Ghana, began domestic flights in September 2011. It added its third destination in November 2011, with return flights to Takoradi.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Piero De Angelis, Head of Sales and Marketing of Starbow Airlines, noted that Takoradi was fast becoming the shining star in the country’s economy because of the booming oil and gas industry in the area.

He called on the airline to open an office at the Central Business District (CBD) of Takoradi.

The Deputy Western Regional Minister, Alfred Ekow Gyan indicated that the success of the airline could be attributed to quality systems and the excellent customer care.

He noted that the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis was steadily becoming a destination of choice for business people.

He mentioned that government would not relent in its efforts to ensure a conducive environment for various enterprises to thrive.
