All-die-be-die mantra is reason for Akufo-Addo's ill-health

An NDC Parliamentarian has called on 2012 Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, to speedily renounce the “All-die-be-die” mantra since his recent ill-health might be from the hardliner’s message he preached before and during the December polls.

He also wants the entire leadership of the party to pick lessons from their flagbearer’s trip to the UK for medical check-up to disassociate themselves from the negative connotations behind the slogan, saying that will lead to Akufo-Addo recuperating fully.

To solidify his assertions, Hon Adjei Mensah, the NDC Member of Parliament for Techiman South Constituency, quoted copiously from scripture saying “from the same mouth come blessing and cursing” and "death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."

Speaking on Okay FM, the NDC MP wondered why Nana Addo went for medicals abroad, in spite of his strong belief in the “all-die-be-die” mantra.

He also found it strange that the General Secretary of the NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, could issue a statement asking party supporters and sympathizers not to amass at the airport to welcome Nana Addo.

To him, the reason adduced by the NPP that some people had planned to take advantage of Nana Addo’s arrival to create chaos at the airport was bogus but not surprising to see it coming from Sir John’s quarters considering the spurious allegations he recently leveled against the NDC and President Mahama that they had a hand in Dr. Bawumia’s car accident on the Bole/Bamboi road.

“At this time and age in Ghana’s developmental stage, if we have a political party that seeks to govern the nation having a strong affinity for superstition and speculation, then God should save Ghana,” the Techiman South MP said.
