Woyome is not going down – Dafeamekpor

Counsel for embattled businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome, has said his client has a solid case and will not go down like Waterville Holdings.

Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor was reacting to a landmark case in which the Supreme Court ordered Waterville Holdings to pay back to the state monies it illegally acquired in the controversial judgement debt scandal involving Alfred Agbesi Woyome.

The company is to cough up over €40m thanks to the suit filed by Martin Amidu against Waterville and Woyome.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Top Story, Woyome’s counsel, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor said the Supreme Court had deferred the substantive hearing of the case to the High Court to determine the real merits of Woyome’s claim of innocence against Amidu’s claim of concerted fraud.

He added, after reviewing his client’s brief, he has a “strong conviction” and a “good case”.

He added given the evidence and facts, he was confident his client would be eventually “exonerated”.

Revealing the emotional state of his client following the decision, Dafeamekpor said Woyome has “always been very calm, forthright “from day one. He has not “wavered” in his evidence.
