Busted “drug baron” sponsored 80 NDC MPs – Kofi Jumah

Former New Patriotic Party [NPP] Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah on Tuesday claimed the owner of airport security management company Sohin Security, Solomon Adelaquaye.

Mr Adelaquaye is facing prosecution in the United States for allegedly trafficking illicit drugs, sponsored not less than 80 Members of Parliament on the ticket of governing National Democratic Congress [NDC], during the 2012 elections.

Mr. Kofi Jumah described as untrue, denials of Mr. Adelaquaye's links with the NDC claiming that he [Jumah] had seen photographs of President John Dramani Mahama and that of National Security Coordinator, Colonel Larry Gbevlo-Lartey (Retired) in the offices of Mr. Adelaquaye.

The former Kumasi mayor, therefore, said the denial by the National Security Coordinator on Joy FM Monday that he had no associations with the embattled Solomon Adelaquaye should be disregarded.

“He even gave me a drink as Christmas gift last year so I know him to be an NDC member,” Kofi Jumah stated on “Badwama” on Adom TV.

He added that a number of National Security workers are on a wanted list of the US security agencies and will not be able to travel to that country.

Meanwhile, General Secretary for the NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, has called on the NDC leadership to publish all those who financed the party in the 2012 elections.

He affirmed his party’s call for a public inquiry into how Mr. Adelaquaye’s company secured a job at the airport as well as investigate his alleged association with the National Security Coordinator.
