Kwesi Appiah is not serious - Nyaho

Outspoken former Ghana Football Association capo, Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe is in wonderland over the seriousness of Black Stars head coach, James Kwesi Appiah following the release of a 24-man squad for next weekend’s 2013 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Sudan in Kumasi.

Nyaho is lost for explanations as to why a coach just coming from a tournament as the AFCON will still invite four debutants amid a squad even larger than the entire team he took to the continental showpiece in South Africa.

“That’s too large, a squad of 24 players for one match. My argument is that the technical team is just doing try and error hoping to get it right. Why 24 players? If you know the players and know those that can play, why assemble this large number when you won’t even have a week to train together?” Nyaho is wondering.

The former Ghana football chief told 90 MINUTES: “I hope Kwesi Appiah knows what he is doing because to me, a squad of 24 players is too large. To me, there is no seriousness, you just finish a tournament and you still don’t have your team. Now just a week to just one World Cup qualifier, you have named a 24-man squad including four newcomers. Let’s see what they do but I have my fears about certain things.”
