New MPs warned to stay off common fund

The Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund has cautioned new MPs to stay off the allocation of the third quarter of the 2012 funds.

According to Kojo Fynn, the fund which was paid early this month is for MPs who were part of the fifth Parliament and hence have the right to use the money to cater for expenses they incurred during that tenure.

To avoid any conflicts between the former MPs and New entrants, he has therefore urged the new entrants to wait patiently for their share of the 2013 fund.

Speaking at a two-day workshop on the utilization of the common fund organised for members of the Parliamentary press corps in Sunyani, he said all the MPs should all try to work together as a team.

He also urged new MPs to continue with projects that were started by old MPs to ensure continuity.
