Gender activist urges police to take action on Paintsil

Gender activist Angela Dwamena Aboagye has urged the police to do thorough investigations and prosecute John Painstil if found guilty of physically abusing his wife.

Black Stars defender John Painstil was last week said to have physically abused his wife.

However, his wife Richlove Paintsil has denied any physical assault, describing the incident as a minor marital dispute.

But Madam Aboagye speaking to Joy News said nothing must be done to shield the Black Stars player if he is found guilty.

She described that incident as “an unfortunate one,” and that, “there is enough information out there to point to the fact that something did happen. I think we should all remember that nobody is above the law,” and the police should act diligently on the matter.

Madam Aboagye added that if it established by evidence that he committed the offence, the law should take its course.

Joy News checks has revealed that the Black Stars defender, John Paintsil has been reporting to the Legon Police, after he was granted bail, to assist in on-going investigation.
