These inefficient people at he top of organizations always amaze me. They wait for the harm to be done and then start telling us stories. They will give another date when the time comes. All they know is take fat salaries and leave the poor suffer. Meanwhile they have regular and uninterrupted power supplies because they can afford to buy expensive generators in their homes. Greedy bastards.

It is easy to look high up at the first leader and blame him. Read the following text and give me your opinion about the two different explanations given by Mr. Fletcher:
This same man, Mr. Samuel Kwesi Fletcher, was is reported by The Daily Guide yesterday to have mentioned to reporters during a tour of the VRA’s installations (at Tema, Kpone, Kpong and Akosombo) among others that the load shedding exercise is due to the closure of the Takoradi Thermal plant for maintenance work that has been necessitated by the institution’s inability to collect its debts from government, the increasing growth rate of electrical power demand in the country, and the depletion of power system reserve margins. That was quite a mix-up of issues by a man who should know better.
A few days later (today), he is at a radio station (Citi FM, this time) telling Ghanaians that the load shedding exercise would end after March, 2013 when the VRA would have received additional gas supply from Nigeria to boost power generation in the country.
What I will like to know is how he expects us to swallow these different stories: 1. You shut down a plant because you need to do maintenance. 2. You have production problems because of lack of raw materials.
I am beginning to think that: Our leaders are taking it a fun to be invited to radio station shows to discuss issues. It does not matter whether they have prepared for such discussions or not. It does not matter whether it is the right time to be present at such talk shows. It does not matter whether they can contribute positively to the discussions or not. It looks as if what matters is their presence at such shows and their ability to say just anything.
An issue such as the supply of regular power to feed the motors of the economy is not a childish affair that has to be given to anyone to handle. What we need in our institutions are competent, productive and efficient leaders (executives) who will be able to turn our institutions round and move us into the 21st century without fear or favour. These executives receive fat salaries, ride in the best cars, and get to live in the best residential areas; all out of the taxpayer’s money. It is time we made them respond to their actions and inactions.
To start with, Mr. Fletcher should issue a more plausible and sensible press release to tell us what is really causing the load shedding, because we cannot have a shortfall of power supply that is initially attributed to the closure of a thermal plant for maintenance work, and then two days later he comes to tell us that the shortfall is due to a gas pipeline that is not operational
