Stakeholders meet on Bawku shooting today

The Bawku Municipal Security Committee on Thursday began a meeting with stakeholders to discuss how the recent shootings in the area can be brought under control.

Among the stakeholders included security heads, leaders of the Mamprusis and Kusasis, the Clergy and civil society organizations.

Peace loving residents of Bawku have been nervous about the recent shootings that led to the death of one person with several casualties recorded there.

In an interview, the Bawku Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Abdulai Musah stated, “We are having a meeting today to discuss how we can push our efforts in trying to maintain law and order and live in a peaceful environment.”

Mr. Abdulai disclosed, “So far so good, since Monday we haven’t recorded any criminal activities, shooting or any violence attacks and so we are working around the clock with the right people to ensure that the situation will even improve for the better.”
