Every region in Ghana will have an industrial park - Nana Addo

The Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo has promised to set up industrial parks across the country to enable the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

“We intend to establish industrial parks to provide SMEs with easier access to land to set up their factories, workshops, sheds, and provide them with ancillary facilities like electricity, water and ICT.”

Addressing the students of the University of Development Studies in Navrongo in the Upper East Region, Nana Addo mentioned that each region in Ghana will have at least one industrial park “starting with two pilot schemes. Each industrial park will be cited so it can be linked to a polytechnic institute or technical university like the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.”

The NPP Presidential hopeful said, “the NPP has always believed that it is the private sector which has the capacity to create jobs and to sustain them in the long term. The next NPP government will provide the needed political and Marco economic environment to ensure the private sector thrive.”

Nana Akufo-Addo further stated that aside the setting up of the industrial parks, training programmes will also be instituted for workers in the SMEs “to upgrade their skills to be able to run their businesses in a modern manner.”
