MCE Sells Land Earmarked For Schools

…As bloody clash looms at Ofankor

BY THE SUN’S SPOTLIGHT TEAM

Mr Ebenezer Nii Armah Tackie, Ga-West Municipal Chief Executive at Amasaman has run into a deep, smelly heap of trouble following his involvement in the encroachment of a six-acre land earmarked for the building of schools at Accra’s suburban Asofaa.

In what fuming residents figure to be at variance with the promotion of education in the area, they have pointed out that the whole plot is disguised as a sale in order to collaborate with a Church for purposes of halving the facility to build a hospital.

However the complaining residents say MCE Armah Tackie’s claim is a palpable lie which need not be given any credibility whatsoever because, the Gua Dzaanor family which released the land for the initial purpose was made to understand the facility was for reasons of education, which is why they gave it out.
THE GHANAIAN SUN’s investigations indicates that in January this year, the MCE and his team managed to woo two elders of Gua-Dzaanor family of Ofankor namely Emmanuel Odartei Lamptey and Denis Agoe Lamptey and in the process, made the two elders enter into an agreement with the Ga-West Municipal Assembly to release some 3.79 acres of land out of the total of six acres.
Investigations have established that since the land in question was earmarked for Schools by Nii Odartey Tsuru, the then head of Gua-Dzaanor family who had had it registered on August 16, 1977, the paper learnt that the two elders did not inform or seek the consent of elders and other family members.
Instead, the two went ahead to release the land to the Assembly with the hope that it was going to put the land to good use. However, a few months after the land was released to the Assembly, MCE Nii Armah Tackie directed the Assembly’s surveyors to re-zone the land for sale.
After re-zoning, at least 10 plots of land were shared among some top officials at the Assembly, while others were sold to private developers causing so much ripples of undercurrents among the original owners of the land and right-thinking members of the Assembly who did not benefit by the largesse.
And as the unfortunate development never went down well with the Assembly, the residents and elders of the Gua-Dzaanor family, the situation nearly turned bloody only last week when the Assembly dispatched its earth-moving equipment and workers to work on the land.
The messy and murky situation has compelled the Gua-Dzaanor family to fill a petition to The Inspector General of Police and Government to step in to arrest the situation, before push comes to shove.
The Dua Dzaanor family has accused the MCE of condoning and conniving with unscrupulous and unauthorized members of the family to re-zone the land earmarked for education instead, for residential estates.
According to the family, all efforts to get MCE Armah Tackie to reason with them has fallen on deaf ears. And as a show of official state muscle, a task force from the office of the MCE was dispatched on Tuesday October 8th, 2012 to invaded the land, which temporarily serves as a football field for some private schools, colts and some football teams in the area.
In the process, the combined efforts of machines and humans destroyed the goal posts on the park as well as some football accoutrments in a bid to ensure that the very private developers they had sold the land to had access to the facility so they built to re-sell.
Following the development, the petitioners noted that on October 12th and 15th respectively, the Assembly sent people to work on the land only to be prevented by obviously worried residents, who engaged in shouting matches that almost nearly degenerated into fisticuffs.
The aftermath of this very insitence on ensuring the correct course of endeavour has driven the Gua-Dzaanor family to call on government to investigate the suspicious conduct of MCE Armah Tackie and the Assembly, and take steps to calll them to order in order to allow peace to prevail in the area.
According to the elders of the family they cannot sit aloof and allow the MCE and his boys to short-change the family. They added that, “If we have been able to keep this land at such a prime area all these years for purposes of education, it will be criminal and suicidal for us to keep mute and allow some shameless public officers who should have known better to encroach on the land for personal gains,” an aggrieved Gua-Dzaanor family member pointed out.
When reached for his comments, MCE Armah Tackie said the Assembly bought the land from the Gua-Dzaanor family but when pushed to disclose how much the Assembly paid, he rather directed The Ghanaian Sun to the Municipal Co-ordinating Director (MCD), Mr. Adu Berkoh.
However MCD Berkoh could not disclose how much the Assembly paid for the six-acre land he claimed the Assembly bought from the Gua-Dzaanor family. He however insisted that, he was not aware of the stand-off between the Assembly and the Gua-Dzaanor family over the encroachment.
The MCD told The Ghanaian Sun that as late as last week, some elders of the family were at his office to claim their share of the proceed from the sale of the land. According to the MCD, he has a list of all the family members who have signed and collected part of the largesse yet refused to show the list to the paper, when pushed for proof.
He also debunked claims that the Assembly had done rezoning of the land and sold some portion to some private developers.

WHO ARE IMPREGNATING THE MAD WOMEN?

By Kofi Safo-Antwi
A cursory look at the crop of mentally-challenged and out-and-out insane of the female stock prancing about the communities, brings up the issue of rampant pregnancy which then leads society to question, which people are thrusting bouts of unprotected sex on the unfortunate and worse still, getting them pregnant?
It appears the age-old adage that even dirty water has the active ingredient and propensity to quench the most ferocious of fires, has been stretched a little too taut in the negative sense stimulating the libido of even the sane, to shoot copious amounts of fluid into the unfortunate and helpless and in the process, swelling up her belly.
Our elders have always held that what a person cannot defend in the open, he need not start in secret and since it takes two to tango, the star question as to who the hell are subjecting our unfortunate women to deep, penetrative thrusts that leave them carrying babies has suddenly erupted like the angry waves of a consuming volcano.
One line of argument has it that the fact that the seemingly clean sane man decides to look as far as the insane female, have unprotected sex with her in all her obvious dirty circumstance, may be an exercise that hinges on spirituality of the negative kind. Some have even gone ahead to suggest SAKAWA.
In this bracket of like-thinking individuals, there is also those who figure that rituals that could go to catapult a political candidate’s chances at clawing victory at elections, more so General Elections, could also cascade his morals into a steep abyss to drive him to such a pitiful exercise.
There is also the magician-turned-pastor, who, only yesterday, was SAUL but has suddenly tricked his way into playing PAUL today, who may be desperately in need of esoteric powers such that, he has to play dirty to appear clean and spiritual in the eyes of a congregation so much in love with miracles.
Yet again, there is the morally-debased and cheap man, who, with his libido on fire, looks left and right and minus a detector in sight, possibly steals into the insane woman in the quiet of the night when the blackness would have been married to the dark to render the search for a black goat in the figurative sense, so difficult.
But the truth, told in full cycle brings to the fore a growing number of insane-yet-pregnant women prancing about street corners of our communities. And with the general elections approaching, magicians yearning to play Jesus Christ walking-on-the-sea and the shortage of cash to pay the prostitute for a fling, the mad woman is a sure game for the merciless hunter.
And to forestall all these disgraceful happenings society and the policing authorities must yoke together in policing, making the ordinary Ghanaian extremely alive to happenings in his surroundings so that, be it the ‘pastor’ who wants to surpass Christ in miracles, the politician who wants esoteric help to ascend power or the cheap rapist, the poor insane woman would be protected from crazy bashes of unsympathetic male rods.
