…Says Nana Addo Could Be Good For Ghana

Dr. Nathan Kwame Nkrumah, one of the sons of Ghana’s first President; Dr. Kwame Nkrumah who attended the EAI Encounter with Nana Addo last week, has stated that looking at the current political scene we have in Ghana at the moment, the Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP); Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has adopted a better position to lead the people of this country as he is intending to bring financial relief to all Ghanaian parents and educational benefits to our children and youth.

Dr Nathan Kwame Nkrumah did not mince words when he stated categorically the looking at the vision spelt out by the Flagbearer of the NPP, he is totally without any doubt that he could be a better leader if voted for as President in the upcoming Presidential elections. Linking the idea of free Senior High Education of Nana Addo to the vision of his late father, Dr. Nathan Kwame Nkrumah acknowledged that “The nation is blessed with good brains and hardworking people. It is up to the government to make good use of all of our human resources. Leaders with vision like Dr. Kwame Nkrumah can raise Ghana to meet the middle income status in a few years if well managed. Nana Addo could be good for Ghana if voted into power.” Despite complementing Nana Addo of his free education policy, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is of the view that Nana should have also tackled policies that could be of immense benefit to the entire populus of the country. To him free education has been the pivot and cornerstone of every developing nation but that alone is not the sole key to total transformation of our economy. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Searchlight, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah recalled that his father had very limited resources available to him for the development of this nation but the natural resources that we have at the moment are more than enough to cater for all the needs of all Ghanaians hence, is sure the free SHS promise of Nana Addo is feasible and essential. “Nkrumah my father had few things to build Ghana with but now Ghana has gold, diamond, timber, bauxite, gas and oil. What are we using the income for?” he questioned. This is our Stewardship for which all politicians and responsible officials will stand accountable one day before God and man. So help us God on that fearful day of judgment to stand tall. “In my view, the economy of Ghana is lurking behind many countries that had independence since the late 40s and 50s. Countries in different continents such as; China, South Korea, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brazil, South Africa are now more advanced in production of cars heavy duty vehicles, heavy mining and earth moving equipment, ships, tankers, super tankers, electronics and many others. What can Ghana boast of today?” he lamented. “Nana Addo did very well by his expression and interest in extending free education which is an ideology of my father Kwame Nkrumah by investing in the future of our children who are our future. Education is the backbone of nation building but he should have tackled more policies that would affect everybody not education alone. Policies like infrastructure development, helping manufacturing companies and a way of taxing that would be best for the people of this country.” According to him Ghanaians need a party colour blind politician and a leader who would unite and truly love Ghana and all Ghanaians of all backgrounds alongside his strong commitment and sincere readiness to equally serve all the people of Ghana. “If we unite as a country, where everybody is equally entitled to every legitimate right; no tribalism, no religious or gender or age differences or prejudice. If this is done here, Ghana would be the best country to live in, not in Africa but in the whole world.” He added that he has been in Pan African politics since 1981 with a specific focus on settling disputes, campaigning and lobbying for African legitimate causes as in the cancellation of debts in Africa and aiding in the Millennium Account attainability and many others under the auspecies of the " United African Organisation" NGO he helped to found in 1981 with other aspiring Ghanaians and Africans in the United Kingdom.
