Desailly considering Stars job

Very reliable sources close to former France captain Marcel Desailly have told FINDER Sports that the 43 year old is now seriously considering taking up the Black Stars job following the dismissal of Goran Stevanovic.
Desailly remains in pole position for the top job and although he has not publicly stated his desire yet sources say feedback from Ghanaian football fans is likely to sway him to take up the job.
Desailly has no coaching credentials but his outstanding achievements as a player gives him a huge advantage.
The Ghanaian born was an integral part of the France team that won the FIFA World Cup in 1998 and the European championship in 2002.
Desailly is seen as a personality capable of earning the respect of the Black Stars players and has the international exposure and connection to bring success to the senior national team.
The Ghana football Association has already begun the search for a new coach for the Black Stars following the dismissal of Goran Stevanovic.
Goran’s assistant Akwesi Appiah has been tasked to take temporary charge of the team but it is very unlikely that he would be the man at the helm of affairs when the Black Stars play Lesotho in a World Cup qualifier in June.
Member of the GFA executive committee George Afreyie has hinted that a new coach would be appointed before June.
