New Year School opens on Monday, January 9

Accra, Dec. 19, GNA - The Institute of Continuing and Distance Education (ICDE), University of Ghana, on Monday announced to the general public the upcoming 63rd Annual New Year School and Conference, 2012.

A statement issued in Accra said this year's edition would create a platform for all stakeholders to network, learn and develop the capacities to educate the general public on pertinent issues related to Ghana’s oil find.

It is on the theme, “One Year of Oil and Gas Production: Emerging Issues’’.

The statement said President John Evans Atta Mills, would deliver the Keynote Address,and the Guest Speaker, would be Professor Paul Collier, Director, Centre for the Study of African Economies, Oxford University, United Kingdom.

It said the venue would be the Great Hall, University of Ghana.

The detailed programme is Registration: Sunday 8–Friday 13,January, 2012

Opening on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 8:30am.

School and Conference Sessions: Monday, January 9 to Friday, January 13, 2012 from 7:00am to 6:30pm each day.

Closing on Friday, January 13, 2012.

Departure on Saturday, January 14, 2012, 8:00am

It said the Conference Fee is GHC190(Local) and $140 (Foreign).
