District Assembly Spends 200 Million Cedis On Infrastructural Development

District Assemblies in the Ashanti Region continue to make good use of their share of the common fund and traditional sources of revenue in the provision of infrastructure and other facilities to improve the living conditions of the people. In the Amansie East District, the assembly has so far spent 200 million cedis on the improvement of roads, construction of classrooms, health and educational centres. This was disclosed by the District Chief Executive, Mr.. Joseph Tabi-Agyei, when he took a GBC news team to inspect some of the ongoing projects. Other projects being undertaken by the Assembly are the rehabilitation of a four-room transit quarters at a cost of 10 million cedis, the construction of a six unit store at Anwiankwanta under the European Union Micro Projects programme and a 10 million cedi Gari processing factory at Ofoase-Kokobin.
