Rainstorm causes havoc in Techiman

Techiman (B/A), April 27, GNA - A rainstorm that hit the Techiman

Municipality ripped off the roofs of 60 houses in eight communities. The affected communities are Fiaso, Konimase, Kenten, Aworano,

Takofiano, Sansama, Anyinabrem and New Krobo. The rainstorm also destroyed six-unit classroom blocks of Islamic

Primary 91A', Takofiano S.D.A. Primary and Junior High School,

Adventist Preparatory School and a fou-classroom block of the Liberty

International School. Mr Jibreal Kesse Labib, the Techiman Municipal NADMO Co-

ordinator, told the Ghana News Agency after inspecting the damage that

101 families had been displaced and were putting up with friends and

relatives. He said several electricity poles and cables were damaged leading to

a power outage, adding the damage caused by the rainstorm was

estimated at GHC 10,000.
