Chorkor Gets First Bank

…As Residents Embrace Capital Line

Residents of Chorkor, an Accra suburb were highly elated last Saturday that they labelled Capital Line Investments, the first financial institution to get a foothold in the area, a bank.

Capital Line received a mammoth appeal when it opened its Chorkor branch with the aim of offering financial services including micro-finance for businesses. At a resplendent ceremony for the company to commence business, Chief of Chorkor, Nii Tan II, asked his people to give Capital Line the best of support in order to develop the area. He reminded Capital Line to always be committed to its policy pledges so as to cultivate and retain the trust of the people.

Chief Executive of Capital Line, Mr Benjamin Nii Commey Otoo said the company has come to stay and would do everything possible to make area businesses grow. “The culture of savings ought to be cultivated by everybody who wants to plan meaningfully for the future. We are just here to help you do that,” he told the Chorkor people.

According to the Chief Executive, his outfit selected Chorkor because of its deprived nature and the reality that small and medium scale enterprises abound in the area with immense prospects.

On his part, Hon Derrick Addotey Myers, Assemblyman for Chorkor Electoral Area advised his constituents to eschew living extravagant lifestyles and save for the future.

He said the presence of Capital Line in the area has come as a saviour, as people would no longer trek outside to open savings accounts and access loans. The company immediately began brisk business that day with the opening of accounts for several people. Capital Line says its packages cover the generality of the Chorkor people: artisans, petty traders, government and other category of workers. The company assures that clients are guaranteed good returns on their savings and investments. Customers need only to do a minimum of GHC1.00 daily contribution.

Capital Line was registered in 2007 under the Companies Code, 1963 (Act 179). Its vision is to be the leading provider of financial and non-financial services. Providing financing, investment and insurance intermediary and general business advisory services with the ultimate aim of empowering the people and businesses for wealth creation is its mission.
