Doctors caution against variation in their single spine

Accra, March 3, GNA - The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) on Thursda= y cautioned against 93any variation whatsoever" of agreed salary levels be= tween doctors and the employer.

"The GMA will certainly not countenance any salary reduction upon migration unto the SSSS (Single Spine Salary Structure) irrespective of which public institution, Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) or Controller or Accountant General's Department (CAGD), fails to act with efficiency and effectiveness", it said in a statement in Accra in reactio= n to widespread discontent by teachers with their salaries under SSSS. The statement signed by Dr Emmanuel Adom Winful, President and Dr Sodz= i Sodzi-Tettey, Secretary, said it had noted with concern the botched migration of the Ghana Education Service unto the SSSS.

GMA expressed sympathy with the teachers and called on the Government, FWSC and CAGD to commit extra effort to ensure the correction and reversal of all anomalies and deductions while addressing all their legitimate concerns. GMA assured doctors that the leadership would continue to pursue their best interest at all times.
