Student discount card launched

Advantage Ghana have launched a Student Discount Card that will enable holders to purchase items from selected shops, restaurants and services and to make significant savings on purchases. Known as the “Student Advantage Card” the product is launched on 24th January for students aged 16 and above from reputable institutions.

The card will be initially distributed in Accra only, but it can be used in the various branches shops have in Tema and Kumasi as well. After February, Advantage Ghana will start rolling the card out in Cape Coast and Kumasi to enable students in these locations to make use of the savings. Currently there are over 50 partners on the discount scheme and the number is increasing rapidly.

Similar schemes exist in large parts of the world and cards like these are purchased by almost every student in the USA and Europe, including the UK, as students recognise the financial benefits the card brings. The benefits for the partner companies are improved brand awareness, increased sales and long term customer loyalty.

As an additional benefit, Advantage Ghana also launched a website to go with the Student Advantage Card. Online, students can order cards, update their personal details, see an up to date list of all discount partners and by registering online, they can access exclusive offers available only for members. The website also has information about studying abroad, scholarships, visas, institution listings to help students choose between institutions and articles to help the students with their studies and job search. Companies can also advertise their vacancies which are aimed at recent graduates as well as vacation placements for current students.

Advantage Ghana recognises the need for additional help for very bright students who need extra financial assistance, and have launched an “Advantage Student of the Year” competition, open to all university students. The winner receives an award for GHc 2000 and details of how to apply are available online at www.advantageghana.com.

Additionally, Advantage Ghana wants to keep up to date with social media, so students can also find us on Facebook and Twitter.
