Press Statement Held By The Concern Youth Of NDC

Press Statement Held By The Concern Youth Of NDC ON THE DETRIMENTAL ACTIONS OF THE DEPUTY UPPER WEST REGIONAL MINISTER (HON. KALE CEASAR) AND SOME REGIONAL PARTY EXECUTIVES TOWRDS THE ARCHIEVEMENT OF THE BETTER GHANA AGENDA OF THE NDC PARTY: WEDNESDAY 1ST DECEMBER 2010.

“Your Excellency Mr. President, the various Regional executives
Organize themselves and come down to Accra and inform you that all is well in their various regions: Mr. President, there is fire on the mountain”.

It is high time that the good name of our party was protected. It is high time that the youth of our great party took their stance on the side that will promote the good name and fortunes of the party. It is high time that the youth stand up against exploitation by certain high profiled people of the party to get their selfish and self-centered agenda fruited.
This short but pregnant press statement is to drum home again (CASTLE) the very cogent reasons why we press for the removal of the Deputy Upper West Regional Minister (Hon. Kale Caesar) to create a congenial atmosphere for the party to unite and move forward in the right direction. It is also to register our disapproval to the way and manner some party executives at the constituency and regional levels are handling the affairs of the party-which are detrimental to the fortunes of the party in the near future. Their approach towards ascending the ladder of politics is to prune, cut, uproot and burn even good alternatives in the system. The do anything possible to eliminate everyone who offers a contrary opinion to theirs-equating themselves as the sole heir of truth and wisdom.

The behavior of the Deputy Minister has thrown his own constituency into confusion. This has drastically reduced the fortunes of the party in that constituency. All this again in preparation to launch his bid for the Next member of parliament of the constituency come 2012 general elections. Never get us wrong. Hon. Kale has every right to stand as the MP for that constituency but it is totally wrong and unjustifiable for him to sacrifice the fortunes of the party for his MP ambitions. At a meeting held at his constituency on Tuesday 2nd November 2010 (3:00-7:00pm), the youth front of the party expressed their frustrations about the actions of the deputy minister in the presence of a top party executive and a top party elder. A DCE also expressed the torture he is experiencing from the actions of the deputy minister.
The harassment of top civil servants at the regional coordinating council is the next tactic he has employed. He believes through his actions towards them that they are a hindrance to his way to achieving personal goals and dreams. These civil servants have faithfully served the state for decades and deserve respect from politicians appointed to head institutions not to be treated with a scorn as if they have no blood.

Some regional executives are also at it again. They have started to gather the same youth they used to oust the former regional minister from office to do same to the current minister. On Tuesday 30th November 2010 (3:00-4:00pm), a meeting was held at a venue (name withheld), to discuss the ways and means they will again employ to create fear and panic leading to the removal of the current regional minister for baseless and unthinkable reasons. We wish to state the following:

o The security and intelligence services should be extra vigilant so that this time around, no irate and misguided youth run down the very rules that govern us. We will resist with all our strength legally, any attempt to allow these people go again unpunished should they strike again.

o We wish to inform Hon. Kale Caesar that we are aware of his current plan of again using some party “foot soldiers” to demonstrate against devoted civil servants and hence we advice that he should stop immediately and try finding ways to working harmoniously with these cooperative servants of the state.

o The approach of the regional executives towards the sharing of the party’s fortunes in power should be free, fair and transparent. They should ensure that everybody gets his fair share of the national cake.
o The regional executives should allow the new regional minister operate smoothly extending to him all the cooperation they never offered his predecessor.
We wish to warn that we the youth will not sit again unconcerned while they use a few of us to create a bad image for the party in the region. People in responsible positions for the party should wake up and sit up from their intentional sleep and become aware of the fact that the party must grow. That their actions and inactions are detrimental to the growth of the party. As we speak now the Regional Chairman and the Deputy Regional Minister are out of the region reminiscent of the days they masterminded the removal of the former regional minister. They come into the region, insight some youth against the government appointees and disappear into thin air. Those days are way over the bar. We the youth have decided to come together and to stay united,
excommunicating anyone one of us who allows himself to be used to achieve personal gains. The party is more ours and we will do whatever it takes to protect and grow it for tomorrows’ sake.
Long live UWR
Long live NDC
Long live Ghana
