Resign if you can’t do the work – NDC parliamentary candidate to executives ‘sabotaging’ campaign

The NDC parliamentary candidate for Sagnarigu, Attah Issah, has openly criticized some executives in the constituency for their lackadaisical approach towards the party’s victory in the upcoming December polls.

In a visibly emotional address, Attah Issah asked the executives who were unwilling to work for the party to voluntarily resign their positions to allow committed people to take charge.

Speaking in his native Dagbani language, Mr. Issah, who is also an accountant for the NDC at its headquarters in Accra, said, “If you cannot do the work, hand over your positions.”

He was expressing his frustration about the conduct of some of his party’s branch executives during what appeared to be a meeting with some branch executives of the NDC in the constituency recently.

Mr. Issah particularly mentioned the Dungu Branch Executives and expressed frustration at their reluctance to actively participate in the campaign efforts.

He described the executives as timid and saboteurs, saying their lack of commitment was inimical to the success of the party both in the constituency and at the national level.

“I am surprised by the fear some executives exhibit when joining the campaign,” he said.

Highlighting the seriousness of the situation, the parliamentary candidate cautioned that the party would not forgive the branch executives if polling stations were lost after the elections.

Mr. Issah defeated Alhaji A.B.A. Fuseini during the party’s parliamentary primaries to become the NDC parliamentary candidate for the December general elections.

Since winning, Mr. Issah has been trying to unite the party; however, it has been difficult for him as some loyalists of the outgoing MP, some of whom are branch executives, are still hurt about their painful defeat.
