Suspected armed robbers paraded in Ho

Ho, Aug. 26, GNA - Some of the suspected highway robbers arrested at Pampawie in the Kadjebi District recently have been identified by their victims.

They were Abu Osmanu, 30, Nigerian, Mohammed Bube, 30, Nigerian, Fuseini Bubakari, 42, Nigerian and Tombianu Francis, 37, Burkinabe. Others are Atta Dzitriame, 45, Togolese, Kwame Abotsi, 57, Ghanaian, John Kwasi Appiah, 28, Ghanaian and Moro Fuseini, 30, Togolese.

The rest are; Kwame Salifu Ambanema, 40, Togolese, Yusifu Bandole, 30, Burkinabe and Moro Cau, 23, Nigerian.

The Volta Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police David Nenyi Ampah-Bennin, did not give the names of those who were identified.

He said the suspects might be the gang that had previously terrorized drivers and passengers on the Sogakope/Aflao, Keta as well as Asikuma and Hohoe highways.

He commended the youths of Pampawie for helping the Police to arrest the suspects and called on other communities to exercise their civic responsibilities in the collective effort to rid the region of criminals.
