Cargill donates relief items to Flood Victims

Tema, July 7, GNA - Mr. Francis Yohuno, Human Resource Manager of Cargill Ghana Limited, on Wednesday presented relief items worth 8,000 Ghana Cedis, to the Tema Office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), for distribution to victims of the recent floods in the Metropolis. The items included 25 cartons of vegetable oil, 100 pieces of students' mattresses and 100 bags of rice.

Mr. Yohuno expressed the hope that the donation would go a long way to help relieve the flood victims of their plight. Mr. Kempes Ofosuware, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), received the items on behalf of NADMO, and expressed his gratitude to Cargill Ghana Ltd for the gesture. The MCE appealed to other corporate organisations to emulate the example of the donor.

He said since government alone can not do everything, the Assembly needed support from corporate organisations. Hajia Zenabu Abdulai, Metropolitan Co-ordinator of NADMO, said her outfit was receiving reports from more people who were affected by the floods.

She, therefore, appealed to public-spirited individuals and organisations for more support.
