Four Ghanaian entrepreneurs receive awards

Accra, June 25, GNA - The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in collaboration with management of African Diaspora Market Place (ADMP) Grants have honoured four Ghanaian entrepreneurs. The four who won the African Diaspora Market Place would be assisted to improve their performance.

They are Mr Paul Ansah, CEO of Ansa Systems Limited, Mr Tenu Awoonor, CEO of Student Card Ghana Limited (SCGL), Mr Henry Adobor, CEO of Aceritas Ghana Limited (AGL) and Mr Kojo Taylor, CEO of Micro Clinics Limited (MCL). Mr Jonathan Pekto, Conseiller Regional d'Alliance, told the GNA in an interview that ADMP was a business plan designed to support entrepreneurial spirit with resources from the US-based African Diaspora Direct Investment (DDI) in viable small and medium enterprises (SMEs)

"Basically, we catalyse job creation, income generation and delivery of vital goods and services by providing matching grants for Africans in the Diaspora working in partnership with African-based enterprises and entrepreneurs," he said.

Mr Taylor spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries and pledged to improve access to basic health care and essential drugs in rural areas and under-privileged communities in Ghana. He said about 60 per cent of drugs imported into the country could not reach rural dwellers.

"We aim at bridging this gap and bring the services close to rural dwellers, these are the weaknesses our project responds to," he said. 25 June 10
