Mills honoured for distinguished leadership

Accra, May 12, GNA- President John Evans Atta Mills was on Wednesday honoured for distinguished leadership

as Head of State by the Africa Global Sister Cities Foundation. The Special Award of Distinction in Leadership in Honour of Head of State was presented by Mr. Michael Hyatt,

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the US based Sister Cities Foundation, accompanied by a high level-

delegation, which paid a courtesy call on the President at the Osu Castle in Accra. The Award recognized President Mills for providing strong leadership as President of Ghana, which has created a

strong, democratic country with an emphasis on a peaceful and stable political environment. The citation read further that the stability realized from the distinguished leadership of President Mills "has

allowed Ghana to be recognized internationally as a nation with encouraging economic growth indicators to meet

the United Nations Millennium Development Goals "Your exemplary leadership has been a source of hope and inspiration in Ghana with other developing countries

worldwide." The Sister Cities Foundation, recognized Ghana as the host country for the African Global Sister Cities

Foundation conference, trade and exhibition, and congratulated President Mills as "Global Citizen Diplomat."
