Standard Chartered Bank Ghana says Q1 profit doubles

Standard Chartered Bank Ghana SCG.GH said on Friday first quarter net profit rose to 22.2 million cedis ($15.6 million) from 10 million in the first quarter of 2009.

The Bank's operating income rose to 58.8 million cedis from 40.2 million, the company said in a filling with the Ghana Stock Exchange, without giving a reason for the 46.2 percent rise.

Earnings per share rose to 1.15 cedis from 0.57 cedis, the company said in the filing.
