Money Show Gears Up

The Money Show, Ghana's only exhibition for the financial services and insurance sector, will open at the Accra International Conference Centre from Thursday 11th October and ends on Saturday 13th October.

Some of the new features at this years show will be a sponsored Banking Hall designed to project the sponsors corporate identity and a state of the art sponsored press centre with full online facilities, where accredited journalists can transmit up to the minute stories direct to their editorial desks.

AITEC, the organisers, expect the show to attract as many as 3,000 high-end consumers as well as corporate borrowers and investors.

Despite the current recession, all is not gloom in the industry with financial pundits forecasting an upturn in the market in 2002.

As with every financial system, a key state of the economy indicator is the stock market and Ghana is no exception. Recognizing this, Ghana Stock Exchange will be a main feature of this year's show 'we recognise that the Money Show will represent a good opportunity for us to meet with and communicate information to potential investors' says Ekow Afedzie, Senior Manager at Ghana Stock Exchange. 'By supporting the Money Show, we hope to encourage our colleagues within the industry to take a similarly positive view.'

Ghana Stock Exchange's participation will be a prominent feature of the show. The stand, positioned within a trading floor setting, will display the all share index and up to the minute market numbers. Also grouped around the trading floor will be the brokers, dealers and banks that trade in stocks and shares.

The theme for this year's Money Show is 'Demonstrating Today's Solutions for Personal Financial Security & Business Prosperity' The event is already attracting a number of participants from banks, insurance companies, building societies, discount houses, brokers, lease finance companies, mortgage lenders and business consulting, tax planning and accounting firms.

Running alongside the Money Show will be an industry specific seminar entitled 'Increased Profits for Banking & Financial Institutions' that will be presented by the world acclaimed U.S. business tycoon, Dr. Wayne Eisenhart, on his second visit to Accra this year.
