Make a righteous choice - ICI

Accra, Dec 24, GNA - The Ghana Chapter of the Intercessors for Christ International (ICI) on Wednesday urged the electorate to make the righteous choice in the presidential run-off slated for Sunday, December 28.

In a statement issued and signed by its Secretary, Mr Fred Hughes, the ICI asked Ghanaians to take a closer look at the two candidates "we are to vote for and mirror them with the instruction of God's word". This is what will make our nation great and strong as stated in our National Anthem," it said.

The statement reminded the electorate that "God guides the humble in what is right," and therefore urged voters to maintain a Christ-centred view or responsibility when voting. It stressed the need for the voters to be knowledgeable about who they were putting in office and asked them to "gather information on each candidate and know what they stood for.

"It is time for us to open our eyes to the truth. We can make a difference by doing the right thing".

While advising the candidates to believe in the grace of God, and put their absolute trust in Him, the statement asked them not to neglect the poor, needy, homeless, widows, fatherless and motherless. It urged Ghanaians to do the right thing to restore God's will in the affairs of the nation, and make Him proud of Ghana by voting wisely. 24 Dec. 08
