Accra bourse registers big sales of GCB, HFC shares

Accra, Nov. 19, GNA - The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) on Monday saw big trading of GCB and HFC shares but the bourse opened the week with a only marginal change in the main stock index.

Total number shares that changed hands was 4.183 million with HFC selling 2.5 million and GCB selling 1.675 million. Traded shares on Friday ended at 595,000.

The benchmark GSE All-Share Index was higher by a mere 0.25 points at 5,867.68 points with change for the year remaining at 17.21. On the broader market, there were four price changes, all positive. CAL Bank was up GH=A20.0006 to close at GH=A20.3828, Enterprise Insurance Company gained 0.0001 GH cedis, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited gained 0.0003 GH cedis at 1.2118 GH cedis and Standard Chartered Bank 0.0005 GH cedis at 24.1255 GH cedis.

Market capitalisation was up marginally at 11,908.50 million GH cedis from 11,908.35 million Ghana Cedis.
