Akuffo Addo Attacks Allan K

You Were Hiding Under Your Bed
When The Going Was Rough
….Those calling some of us old should go ask the women how strong we are in bed

Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo has opened fire on some colleague aspirants, describing them as cowards who hid under their beds when the going was tough for the NPP in opposition.

Looking visibly angry and having the demeanor of one almost ready to engage in a physical combat, the NPP aspirant stated: “Now that some of us have prepared the food, they are running from all angles to come and take it away from us.”

In what was seen as direct reference to Allan Kyeremanteng, the anointed candidate of president Kufuor, he cautioned delegates not to give their votes to any individual who has not fought and won any election anywhere before. He urged delegates to choose an individual who knows the history of the party and not one who joined the party recently when the hard work had already been done.

Nana Akufo Addo was addressing NPP constituency and polling station executives of Kumasi at the cultural center over the week-end. He told them to be mindful of such dangerous elements within their party who think they can buy the vote of the people by dishing out whooping amounts of money.

"They claim they are nice looking and have money, therefore they can influence you with money; but let me tell you money never votes. If you follow money and vote for such undeserving ones it will cost the party dearly," he added.

He noted that change of leadership is a very difficult task and so if the NPP does not manage the change with care, it will lead to division in the party citing NDC's Swedru declaration as an example which he said created some division in the NDC prior to the 2000 elections. Nana Akufo Addo said the aggressive way the NDC is going about their campaign must send a signal to the NPP since this poses a great threat to the party. “If the NPP does not elect a person like me to match Prof Mills boot for boot, this will spell the doom of the party.”

“Some claim they are young and energetic so we the old ones must give way for them to lead the party. They should go and ask the women if I am not strong in bed.”

He challenged these so called young aspirants to come out with their achievements for the party and stop talking about ministerial achievements because according to him most of the work done within Ministries.

"They say I am arrogant and intolerant; I don't like people, but let me tell you I’m not like that. The issue is that I hate injustice," he said.

Akuffo Addo directed a major salvo towards Aliu as well. He warned delegates not to think that giving the nod to a candidate just because he comes from the north will secure votes in the three northern regions. “This may lead to division in the party,” he declared.
