Ahantaman to open two more branches

Agona Nkwanta (W/R), July 9, GNA- The Ahantaman Rural bank would soon open a new branch at Nsuaem as well as a Savings Mobilization Centre at the Agona Nkwanta market.

Mr. John Dadzie, Chief Executive Officer of the bank who disclosed this said it was aimed at making banking services available to all persons living within the banks catchments areas and also to increases its capital base.

Mr. Dadzie was talking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Agona Nkwanta over the weekend.

He said all constructional works had been completed and when the necessary equipments are installed, the bank would become operational. He said the bank hopes to become the number one and preferred one in the Western region and would soon embark on various methods and strategies to win more clients and also ensure customer satisfaction. Mr. Joshua Ackah, Board Chairman of the bank said the Ahabank Company Limited a subsidiary of Ahantaman Rural bank recorded a net profit before tax of about GH( 5,480 (54.8 million cedis) in 2006 as against GH( 3,700 (30.7 million cedis) in 2005.

He said the profits were re-invested in the company and urged customers of the bank to purchase goods from the company on credit. Mr. Ackah said the bank supported a number of groups, communities and institutions with GH( 5601.4 (56.014 million cedis) as part of its corporate social responsibility while it also granted scholarships to 18 needy but brilliant students in the senior secondary school and tertiary institutions.

He said the bank has spent a total of GH( 2,664 (26.64 million cedis) were spent on them and assured the shareholders that the bank was willing to support other needy students within the district. 9 July 07
