Ghana@50 Was Dark

It was a frightening state for Ghanaians living within some parts of Accra, Kaneshie, Mamprobi, Dansoman, Bubusiashie, Odorkor and many other suburbs on the 59th minute to the $20million worth historic anniversary when they had to stay in darkness for over 13hours guessing whether they will also join in celebrating Ghana’s Golden Jubilee with electricity.

Many people within those areas were wondering whether the promise made by the Electricity Company of Ghana to seize the normal load shedding exercise for a two week period during the celebration was a hoax. Official of the Electricity Company of Ghana had earlier promised Ghanaians of regular uninterrupted electricity supply to celebrate Ghana’s golden Jubilee.

However, this assurance came to naught when their electricity supply was cut on the biggest anniversary celebration. Some were of the view that some particular technicians within the oversight sector organization wanted to sabotage the colorful event. Residents who spoke to this paper demanded for an independent investigation into the circumstance that led to the blackout.
