GSE Index in marginal gain

Accra, Feb. 16, GNA - The GSE All-Share Index, the benchmark of the Accra bourse slightly inched up 0.43 points to close the week trading on Friday.

The index, which closed on Thursday at 5,030.91 points, went up 5,032.25 points, buoyed by price gains from Aluworks Ghana limited and Ecobank Ghana Limited.

Three price changes were recorded, two positive and one negative Aluworks, the highest gainer went up 30 cedis to close at 7,380 cedis with Ecobank gaining six cedis to close at 13,616 cedis. Ghana Commercial Bank, the only loser, went down one cedi to close at 6,199 cedis.

Traded volumes fell to 9,200 shares from 21,500 shares recorded on Thursday.

Change for the year stood at 0.50 per cent. Market capitalization was up marginally at 112,647.69 billion cedis from 112,645.64 billion cedis.
