Businessman calls for political tolerance

Techiman (B/A), May 21, GNA - Mr Isaac Kwaku Baffoe, Managing Director of I. K. Baffoe Trading Enterprise at Techiman, has appealed to the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to intensify its education on need for political tolerance.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, he advised political parties to accommodate each other's views to promote peace. He expressed the hope that they would tolerate each other especially during the campaign period and after the elections.

Mr Baffoe noted that unlike some African countries such as Sierra-Leone and the Democratic Republic of Congo, all efforts must be made to maintain the peace and stability that Ghana has enjoyed over the years.

He said that rivalry among political parties could degenerate into antagonism between brothers, close relatives and friends. MR Baffoe said that this does not augur well for progress and expressed the hope that it would be eliminated from the society.
